Super Tuesday Election Results

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 |

This was the most incredible primary on recent record with so many people coming to the polls and each of the candidates pulling off significant victories. At this point there has been no decisive victory although it appears that McCain could tie this down for the Republicans unless we can see more momentum and a shift in the results for either Mitt or Mike in the final leg of the primaries.

Delegate count as it stands this morning:

On the Republican side of the aisle we have John McCain leading with 613 delegates, Mitt Romney coming in with 269 delegates, Mike Huckabee at 190 delegates & Ron Paul with 14 delegates.

On the Democratic side of the aisle we have Barack Obama with 765 delegates and Hillary Clinton with 845 delegates, John Edwards with 26 delegates and Mike Gavel with 0 delegates.

Well, the candidates are strapping on their boots for a few more laps around the rest of the nation that has not held their primaries yet as the candidates try and convince American voters and delegates that they are the right man or women to be the next President of the United States of America.

Sunshine all day - yipee - a much needed break

Thursday, January 24th, 2008 |

The sun was shining all day today around Vancouver, Washington. Okay, we’ll include Portland, Oregon on this one. Wow, it was beautiful. 2 days in a row as a matter of fact. Yes, it’s a bit chilly in the morning and in the evening but the daytime is very comfortable, warm and sunny.

For the California transplants this was a very welcome day. It’s a day that could just keep going on and on and on for months and nobody would complain. You could’ve even worn shorts today outside. Something inside of you just said: Oh… let this be the weather for the next 2 months.. but, I have to break the news to you.. we are in the Pacific Northwest and this was a simple but beautiful break that reminds us of why we live in Portland - Vancouver (the scenery - amongst other reasons).

So, squeeze as much sunlight out of the big yellow ball in the sky while it’s visible and brace yourself for a bit more moisture as we head into what will undoubtedly be a wonderful spring in a couple more months.

Grab your jacket - This weekend is supposed to get cold

Saturday, January 19th, 2008 |

According to the National Weather Service this weekend will be the coldest for the year so far in the cities of Vancouver and Portland and all over Southern Washington. Already, around Vancouver and the outlying areas we are seeing ponds freezing over indicating how cold the weather has been. Well, now this weekend it will be colder.

Lower elevations should be seeing some snow with perhaps over a foot of snow in the Cascades. Bundle up.. It’s gonna get cold! Saturday and Sunday will be in the 40’s and the night time temps will be very chilly in the 20’s and 30’s.

Sunday snow levels should be about 500 feet. Grab your sleds! Sunshine on Monday - put sleds away… unless your taking a trip to the higher elevations. In which case you will be able to take advantage of lot’s of fresh powder.

Or perhaps take a trip up to Cougar with your snowmobiles for a fun day in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A few weeks ago we found a great spot for sledding off the side of the road on the way to Ape Caves.

Whatever you do - please enjoy this wonderful weekend.
